There are several 'fashion rules' that exist in today's society. We put this in quotes because we don't necessarily think these rules should be followed, nor do we follow to us they don't really serve as rules. One of these rules (briefly discussed in our All White After Memorial Day post) is that one should not wear white before Memorial Day, only after. We don't follow this. Another one of these commonly known 'fashion rules' is that clashing is nottttttt cool. We don't follow or agree with this rule either! Maybe it's because our mom used to dress us in the most awesome clashing outfits when we were babies, or maybe it's because of something else but regardless, we (in certain circumstances) think clashing can be kinda really cool. Sorry, not sorry.

We think clashing can be cool... so cool that we decided to dedicate today's post to clashing looks.  Combining different pattern, textures, and fabrics in an outfit can actually create a really unique, different, and high fashion look, even if it does CLASH HARD. Check out the clashing, yet fabulous, looks that we personally decided fit this acceptable clashing criteria. Let's hear it for clashing! (insert applause here)

I am automatically obsessed with any article of clothing that features any lace pattern or fabric - this is simply because I absolutely adore lace and/or embroidery of any kind. This is why I decided to go with one of my favorite embroidered For Love & Lemons lace patterned crop top in nude AND my Choked by a Thread white lace choker for my clashing look. I am soo obsessed with this For Love & Lemons crop top and how the nude mesh fabric and white lace embroidery details of the top makes it look like only the lace part is actually there. This top, even though it's cropped, looks super elegant (lace always helps to raise the elegance level of any outfit) but can also be dressed down... like if I paired it with a pair of short high waisted denim shorts. Instead, I decided to dress it up a little bit and paired this beautiful top with my Topshop high waisted silk polka dot pants (similar polka dot pants linked). Even though the patterns of this top and the bottoms are so different, they went so great together and formed the exact mixed prints/clashing look I was going for.

After this mix up of patterns and fabrics, my shoe choice was simple - a pair of comfortable Coach pumps in a neutral, ivory color that matched perfectly with the color of the polka dots on my pants. Proof that it is possible to clash and match at the same time ;) I finished off my look with an adorable black Factory croc textured buckle box clutch and threw my hair into a high half up, half down bun look to really show off my neck and to, also, add an extra edge to my entire look. If I had to be my own judge, I'd say I mastered the clashing game with this look...not to brag or anything ;)

I went with this adorable Equipment star print blouse for my top. Equipment blouses are legit the BEST! So comortable and can be worn to work or even dressed up for a night out. I added my Rockins classic skinny neck tie just because I love a neck tie. Anddd you guys have to check out all Rockins neck ties... they are so cute and come in all sorts of different patterns and sizes. Perfect for adding a little pop to an outfit. I wore this adorable Pierre Balmain Skort (lol remember shorts?) which unfortunately is unavailable but you can still complete this mis matched look which similar looks below :) I threw on my Coach 'Heath' loafers to complete my look!

Despite what most may think or believe, clashing and mixing different prints is NOT a fashion faux pau, especially if done correctly with the right items to clash it up. We definitely love the way we chose different patterned and mixed pieces to put together our featured clashing looks 8-) 8-)

Check out below, our Shop page & Looks for Less page to shop our featured look and for other mixed prints that we adore!! It's August and the weekend is almost here!! Woot woot :)
