HOW TO COVER IT UP
Hey guys :) So sorry it's been a little bit since we last posted. What a crazy time we've had with it being New York Fashion Week this week!! P.S. A post recapping our NYFW 2016 experiences will be posted on the blog later this week, stay tuned. We know that Labor Day weekend kinda 'officially' marks the end of the Summer with the welcoming of September and weekend vacations coming to an end...back to school, back to work, etc. Regardless of the fact that summer is 'said to be' over, we have another summer style post to share with all of you. After all, it does apply to several seasons...since vacations can happen at any point of the year and cover ups are always a necessity when vacationing on a beach or by a pool or just in the heat. So here is a post dedicated to how to 'cover it up' in two of our favorite ways to throw something on over a bathing suit...surrounded by the beautiful water of Sag Harbor, NY.
I have been obsessed with the designer Mara Hoffman for years, and I still am. I especially love her maxi dresses and wear them for all sorts of different occasions, including as cover ups, such as the Mara Hoffman 'Mosaic' maxi dress that I am sporting in this post. Although this is technically a maxi dress, I wore it as a sophisticated and eccentric looking cover up to throw on over my bikini after a day of basking in the sun. I love the colors and shapes of this dress, making it different from any other one I have ever seen. The long sleeves give it a fancier look than other cover ups (in my opinion). I paired my busy and colorful cover up with simple solid colors - black Coach 'Primrose' wedge platformed sandals and a pair of white round Wildfox 'Dakota' sunglasses with a plain gold choker and my hair pulled into a loose side braid. Loved this beachy look and how the colors of my outfit contrasted with the beautiful scenery <3
Without a doubt one of the best parts of summer is going to the beach and being on the water. Nothing feels better than the salty ocean air on a warm summer’s day. For my beachy outfit I wore a Sofia By Vix One Piece Swimsuit which I love because of its sophisticated snakeskin print. It is so stylish I could almost wear it as a top with a skirt or palazzo pants!! Over my suit I wore a For Love & Lemons St. Tropez Crochet Top and matching For Love & Lemons St. Tropez Crochet Skirt. I love this combination for it not only has a beachy vibe but is elegant too, making a day at the beach very stylish. On my feet I wore my go to platform sandals that I wear all the time because I love the color and the style and they seem to go with everything! Although these exact platform sandals are no longer available a similar Jimmy Choo 'Portia' Patent Leather Wedge, equally adorable, is linked below. I finished my look with my ultra sleek Ray Ban Round Gold Flat Lens Sunglasses. Love these for their simple look that always have the ability to pull together an outfit. Although summer is winding down the beachy look never goes out of style because there is always beachy travel to look forward to!!
SUMMER PLZ DON'T GOOOO! :(
We're not quite ready to kiss the Summer season goodbye but are afraid that we will soon have to!! Although the temperatures in NYC have still been scorching, we've also felt a small hint of that chilling Autumn breeze in NYC this past weekend- a clear sign that Autumn is on it's way...bittersweet! :) We hate to see Summer go but can't wait to sport the trends that the next season holds!!
